Business Intelligence Leader, Strategist and Innovator
Jim is Vice President and Manager of Advanced Analytics and Reporting at US Bank in Minneapolis, where he leads a multidisciplinary team that builds business intelligence and analytics solutions used in managing technology and compliance risk. His career includes functional and leadership experience in software development, data warehousing, business intelligence, and technology strategy, primarily in regulated environments. His roles have often included leading through times of significant organizational change.
Jim holds a Master of Organizational Leadership from University of Northwestern in St. Paul, and a Bachelor of Business Management from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee.
While working on his Master’s degree, Jim began pursuing a long-held passion for understanding why life works out well for some people and why so many others fail to live up to their potential. His research into the ethical factors that appeared to act as an underlying driver of life’s outcomes led to publication of an article in the International Journal of Leadership Studies, in which he laid out a framework that describes the makeup of human character and its application in a leadership setting.
More recently, he condensed eight years of research into a series of nine lectures he delivered on character, its components, and its role in a well-lived life. The lecture materials are now the primary substance of a book he is authoring on everyday ethics that applies to individuals, families, organizations, governments, and societies.
